BROOKLYN COLLEGE/CUNY: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR The Department of Political Science seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in International Politics beginning September 1, 2006. We are seeking candidates whose specialty is East Asia, South Asia or Middle East. We welcome candidates who combine historical, critical, and interdisciplinary approaches. The successful candidate is expected to pursue a significant program of research and scholarly publication, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in politics, develop new courses in his/her area of expertise, and to work collaboratively on new curricular and programmatic initiatives. Ph.D. in Political Science by August 1, 2006 is required. Brooklyn College, with a long tradition of educating first-generation immigrants and people of color, is part of the City University of New York, a leading academic research institution and the largest urban public university in the country. Candidates from underrepresented populations and women are especially encouraged to apply. We seek candidates with the ability to teach in a diverse, multicultural urban environment. Candidates should submit letter of application, curriculum vitae, publication or writing sample, three letters of recommendation, and evidence of teaching experience such as syllabi and teaching evaluations.
