Assist/Assoc. Professor of Global Societies Dover,Delaware Requirements Essential Functions Essential Functions The following are the functions essential to performing this job. 1. Teaching, research, recruitment, and other administrative duties associated with the Global Societies Program. Other Functions Individuals in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis. 1.Teach multiple sections of the Global Societies class whenever needed on any of DSU's campuses 2.Supervise students enrolled in the class 3.Help plan workshoos and other events related to the success of the class 4.Advise students on global issues and study abroad programs 5.Serve on the Global Societies committee 6.Contribute to a rapidly growing global intellectuall environment on campus 7.Other duties directly relating to the Global Societies Program. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. 1.Competence in interdisciplinary teaching 2.Research warranting publication in the Global Societies/Studies area 3.Other Internationally-related experience(s) 4.Experience in traching a similar class 5.Commitment to service Qualification Standards 1. Education: Must have a Master's (doctorate preferred) in any of the humanities or the social science disciplines at time of hire. 2.Successful experience: Must have taught a similar class prior to applying.
