International Relations The Political Science department at Western Washington University invites applications for a full time tenure track position, at the rank of assistant professor, beginning in September 2006 in the field of international relations. Applicants with specializations in areas other than international political economy are particularly encouraged to apply. Areas of teaching and research interests might include international organizations, international law, human rights national security and American foreign policy. Teaching responsibilities include introductory international relations courses and advanced courses within the faculty member’s area of specialization. Minimum requirements include: Completion of the Ph.D. by September 2006; ability to teach introductory international relations courses; and evidence of potential for successful teaching and research in the major area of specialization. Interested candidates submit: a letter of application describing teaching philosophy and research plans, and qualifications for the position; vita; official transcripts; three letters of recommendation; teaching evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching abilities; and evidence of scholarly potential including a writing sample.
