[Department Website][APSA elisting(requires membership)] Assistant Professor—International Relations/Comparative Politics York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full time tenure Assistant Professor to start August 2006. York College is a comprehensive college in south central Pennsylvania, fifty miles north of Baltimore. The department offers bachelor degrees in history, political science and dual degrees (in education and a dept. major) for secondary education teachers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach four courses a semester at the undergraduate level. Course load will include one or two survey courses in the comparative area and upper division courses in International Relations, American f oreign policy and other courses to be developed by the candidate. Additional duties include teaching the senior seminar on occasion, advising students, engagement in scholarly activity and providing service to the department, the college and the community. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should be prepared to teach American foreign policy, international relations and must be able to offer courses in either Asian politics or Latin American politics. Ability to teach introductory American Government courses is a plus. It is expected that the successful candidate will be student-centered and willing to work with the model UN and/or EU simulations. A solid record of excellence in teaching and advising, scholarly promise, and a strong commitment to service are required. Ph.D. by time of employment is expected.
