Candidates should hold the Ph.D. degree or be very near completion, in Political Science and should have excellent teaching skills, demonstrated potential for excellence in research, and an intention to seek outside research funding. The department seeks a strong researcher/teacher in American Foreign Policy, who also has expertise in International Relations and American Government. PIA has a core faculty of 40. The department is based at the Fairfax campus in Northern Virginia, 15 miles west of Washington, DC and offers classes at the Arlington and Prince William campuses as well.
