IR Job Candidates Fall 2006

Many institutions have openings this year (204 as of October 15th). The supply of candidates for these jobs is another question. As a crude (and probably elitist) measure, the number of job candidates in international relations listed on department web pages for US institutions in the top 20 political science departments (as measured in a debate-provoking paper by Simon Hix) is tabulated below; each department has an average of 3.71 students on the market.
