The Political Science/Planning Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in political science or international relations; potential for scholarly research and publication; evidence of teaching excellence; and a commitment to public service. Duties include teaching courses in international relations, comparative politics and introductory American Government. Special consideration will be given to individuals with expertise in Middle Eastern, Asian and/or Latin American Politics. The University of West Georgia is a senior unit of the University System of Georgia. The Department of Political Science and Planning offers both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees and participates in the Global Studies and International Economics degree programs. The University is located on the western edge of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area in Carrollton, Georgia. Carrollton, about an hour?s drive from Atlanta, is the seat of Carroll County. Carrollton provides a regional population of approximately 100,000 with retail shopping, medical, educational and financial services, entertainment, and recreation.
