The Department of Political Science and International Relations at Simmons College invites applications for a three-year full-time contract position. We seek a broadly educated political scientist whose primary preparation is in the fields of international relations and comparative politics. Simmons is a small urban university in the heart of Boston with 1900 undergraduate women students and co-educational graduate schools. The normal teaching load is 3/3. The successful candidate will join the political science and international relations faculty and will teach the introductory course in international politics, an intermediate-level course in international organizations and law, and intermediate-level electives in IR and comparative politics. Research and teaching interests might include a geographical area (Latin America or Eastern Europe particularly welcome) or a conceptual focus such as international political theory, political economy, or environmental policy. Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship.
