Villanova University

[Department Website][APSA elisting(requires membership)] The Department of Political Science invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Middle East politics at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor beginning Fall Semester 2006. Ph.D. in Political Science must be completed by June 30, 2006. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses on Middle East Politics and International Relations, an occasional introductory international relations course and graduate (MA level) courses. We offer a 3-2 teaching load for the first three years. After a successful Third Year Review, a one-semester sabbatical is available in the fourth year and the 3-2 teaching load may be continued for another three years contingent on the publication record. This position is affiliated with the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies, which offers an interdisciplinary concentration to undergraduates. Preference will be given to applicants who provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and show promise of a strong record of publication. Language competence in Arabic is preferred.
