Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California. Full-time, academic year, tenure-track position beginning September 2006. The successful candidate will teach primarily in International Relations, but should be able to teach general education courses in both Comparative Politics and International Relations. We are especially interested in candidates with research interests in the European Union. Applicants should be prepared to teach upper division courses in at least three of the following areas: Politics of the European Union, Peace and War, Comparative Foreign Policy and International Organizations and Law. With periodic credit for assigned teaching time, the teaching load is typically 2-3 courses per quarter. Ph.D in Political Science required at time of appointment. Evidence of strong teaching skills required. Ability to engage in creative teaching methods. Qualitative and quantitative research skills preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
