[Department Website][APSA elisting(requires membership)] California State University, Dominguez Hills, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in political science at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, Economics and Labor Studies in the College of Business Administration and Public Policy. The appointment will be effective Fall Semester 2006. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of funds. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teaching duties may consist of day and evening classes. Additional responsibilities include advising, research and service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy. Published research in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and promotion. Teaching responsibilities will include both lower division and upper division undergraduate courses. Opportunities for summer session teaching assignments are possible. QUALIFICATIONS A. Required: An appropriate terminal degree in political science, international relations or closely related field with a major in international relations and comparative politics. ABDs will be considered. A record of or potential for effective teaching and scholarly research and publication in the above fields. B. Preferred: PhD in an appropriate field. A record of or potential for effective teaching and scholarly research and publication in some combination of the following areas: international relations theory; comparative politics theory; American foreign policy; and introductory research methods. RANK AND SALARY Appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and salary are dependent upon qualifications and professional experience.
