The Department of Government of the College of William & Mary invites applicants for the Wendy and Emery Reves Chair in the politics of the Middle East and North Africa at the Associate/Full Professor level. Senior assistant professors with the qualifications to receive tenure are also encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include introductory courses and courses that reflect candidate’s interests. The Department of Government consists of 23 full-time faculty members, and graduates more than 150 students each year with a major in Government. Students majoring in International Relations and Public Policy also complete a substantial number of their courses in the Department of Government. The College of William & Mary, the second oldest university in the United States, is one of the nation’s most selective institutions. It enrolls approximately 5,500 undergraduates and 2,500 graduate and professional school students. It has a vibrant Arabic language teaching and Middle East study program. Salary, research support, and teaching responsibilities are highly competitive. Applicants must hold the Ph.D. in political science. Materials should include a letter of application, a current curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching experience and samples of scholarly writing.
