The Department of Political Science seeks candidates for a 9-month academic year tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 16, 2006. Candidates should have a strong theoretically-guided commitment to research and teaching related to the comparative or international politics of contemporary Islam. This position is one of several positions created to support Islamic Studies at Michigan State University. A successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with campus colleagues to develop and implement this program. The closing date for applications in October 15, 2005, though later applications may be accepted if the search remains open.
