The position will be filled at the senior assistant or associate professor level in Fall 2006. Teaching responsibilities include offering upper-division and graduate courses in Asian politics and introductory courses in comparative politics / international relations and American government. A willingness to participate in the College of Liberal Arts’ Asian Studies Program, while not required, is strongly desired. Other responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda and contributing appropriate levels of professional and university service. Candidates applying at the senior assistant professor or associate professor level must possess a Ph.D. in Political Science from an accredited college or university. Senior Assistant Professor candidates must provide evidence of an active research agenda, scholarly publications, teaching effectiveness and appropriate levels of professional and university service. Associate Professor candidates must provide evidence of continuous scholarly productivity, publication of high quality research, teaching effectiveness, and a continuous record of professional and university service. A working knowledge of an Asian language is required for candidates applying for the comparative politics area of specialization; a working knowledge of an Asian language is strongly desired for candidates applying for the international relations area of specialization. Salary competitive; contingent on labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
