This position will be filled at the assistant or the associate professor level commencing Fall 2006. In addition to introductory courses in American politics and international relations, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in his or her areas of expertise. Knowledge of and ability to teach courses in international security, conflict resolution, social movements, or gender politics will be considered a plus. Other responsibilities include: engaging in research leading to scholarly, peer-reviewed publications; mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; providing appropriate levels of service at the department, college and university levels. Required qualifications at the assistant professor level include an earned doctorate in Political Science from an accredited college or university completed by the time of appointment; evidence of a strong research program or the potential to develop one; evidence of scholarly activities leading to peer-reviewed publications; and excellence in teaching. Candidates applying at the associate professor level must possess a Ph.D. in Political Science from an accredited college or university and provide evidence of continuous scholarly productivity, publication of high quality research, excellence in teaching, and a continuous record of professional and university service. Salary competitive; contingent on labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
