U.S. Air War College, Air University Multiple Faculty Positions The United States Air Force Air War College invites applications for full time positions beginning July 2006. Faculty are sought in the following areas: International relations and security issues: international political economy, defense economics, international negotiation and conflict resolution, regional security studies including Russia, East Europe, Middle East, Central Asia, and Latin America. Military Strategy, history of warfare, history of air power and/or/ spacepower. Military Operations: comparative military studies, national military strategy, military operations, and war and conflict studies. Successful candidates will have a PhD., a record of scholarly publications, and graduate level teaching experience or equivalent professional experience. Candidates for positions in regional security studies should provide evidence of superior language skills (e.g., Russian, Arabic, Farsi, Uzbek, Portuguese, or Spanish) and of field study experience in the relevant region. The Air War College is located at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama, and offers a ten-month graduate level program leading to a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies. Air War College graduates go on to senior leadership positions in the US Department of Defense and other federal government agencies as well as the military services of allied nations. Faculty appointments are made under excepted service with initial appointment ordinarily for three years. Salaries are competitive. Positions are open until filled.
