THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA Faculty of Graduate Studies Director Liu Institute for Global Issues The University of British Columbia (www.ubc.ca) invites applications for the tenured position of Director of the Liu Institute. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of leadership and scholarship in global issues. The Liu Institute (www.ligi.ubc.ca) pursues interdisciplinary research on global public policy issues. Its activities currently include international relations, human security, disarmament and non-proliferation, conflict, gender and development, the environment, global health and international justice. The successful candidate will have an exceptional international reputation in her/his field, a broad understanding of global issues, a capacity to provide leadership within an interdisciplinary setting, and a commitment to graduate program development. A record of fundraising ability is desirable. The new Director will take up the Directorship on July 1, 2006, or as soon as possible thereafter.
