The University of Southern California’s School of International Relations invites nominations and applications for the John A. McCone Chair in International Relations. The new chair holder will bring a distinguished record of research and publications and will provide leadership and visibility in international security studies. The chair includes resources beyond salary, and terms will be subject to negotiation. The School of International Relations, founded in 1922, has 22 dedicated faculty and is part of the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. The School offers an undergraduate degree, joint masters degrees, and a joint doctoral degree with the Department of Political Science. This doctoral program emphasizes rigorous theoretical and methodological training typical of political science programs and includes other innovative approaches as well. The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree. The appointment will be tenured at the full or associate level beginning preferably in September 2006.
