International Relations The Department of Political Science invites applications and nominations for one or possibly two new positions in the field of International Relations at the rank of associate professor, with the possibility of appointment at another rank depending on the qualifications of the candidate. The Department is seeking individuals with active research agendas and published scholarly records that make significant contributions to one or more areas within this field. The successful candidates will play major roles in the expansion of the international relations program in the Department. These new positions are also intended to expand the breadth of coverage of the subfield and enhance the general strength and reputation of the international relations program – which already consists of six active scholars. (In addition, the Department is searching for multiple new faculty members in IR at the rank of assistant professor.) The fields of specialization for these associate professor positions are open, but we are most interested in scholars who combine strong theoretical interests with sophisticated approaches to theory development and testing. The Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University is a doctoral level department with an active research faculty, and is home to the Program in Foreign Policy Decision Making. More information about the Department and University is available on the Internet at http://www-polisci.tamu.edu. Applicants should send a letter of interest that describes their current research program, a curriculum vitae, and the names of three references. Requests for additional information, including letters from references, will be made after an initial review of the applicant files. We are especially interested in applications from and nominations of candidates who would increase the Department’s gender, racial, and ethnic diversity. Texas A&M University is an AA/EOE employer. Review of applications will open on September 15 and will continue until the positions are filled. Send applications to: Patricia A. Hurley, Professor and Head, Department of Political Science, Texas A&M University, 4348 TAMU, College Station, TX 77845-4348.
