[Department Website][APSA elisting(requires membership)] Political Science and Center for Inter-American and Border Studies, University of Texas at El Paso. Location: El Paso, Texas. Responsibilities: The position is allocated one third to the Center for Inter-American and Border Studies and two thirds to the Political Science Department, and contributes to the development of interdisciplinary teaching and research in both academic units. Programs include graduate and undergraduate majors and minors in Political Science and Latin American and Border Studies. Duties of the position include teaching 3 courses per semester, supervising theses, developing and implementing curriculum, extracurricular work with students, the completion of research projects and publication of the results, organization of academic events, and university and professional service work. For the holder of this position these are expected to be in the area of international relations and border affairs. Minimum Requirements: Ph.D in International Relations and 2 years of prior teaching experience at an accredited U.S. university or comparable foreign institution. Proficiency in both English and Spanish sufficient for teaching and research is preferred but not required. For those candidates that are bilingual, responsibilities will also include teaching introductory classes in Spanish.
