ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
International Development
The Department of International Relations at San Francisco State University, seeks applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor, position in the study of International Development, starting Fall 2006. Regional specialization is open. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to: political economy of environment, social aspects of development, social movements and global governance, and non-state actors in global politics. The successful candidate must possess a broad knowledge of international relations, strong methodological skills and demonstrable knowledge of rigorous quantitative or qualitative approaches. He or she should be committed to excellence in teaching and have a record of research publication. The successful candidate will teach upper-division undergraduate and MA level courses in development, environment, and global social movements. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Ph.D. degree required. Applicants should submit a letter of interest that describes their research and training, curriculum vitae, writing samples, and three letters of recommendation.
