[2006-02-27] Heard from a source at Georgetown that they hired Bruce Hoffman (RAND) for their senior security-studies search. I also got a rejection letter for their temporary (3-year) junior position, but the letter did not say who was hired for that.

Laurier Brantford invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Human Rights and International Relations, subject to final budgetary approval. The appointment will commence July 1, 2006.
Laurier Brantford is a fast-growing campus of Wilfrid Laurier University located in Brantford, Ontario, approximately a one-hour drive from the Waterloo campus. Laurier Brantford has begun to offer a minor program in Human Rights and Human Diversity which is proving very popular. The successful candidate will be expected to offer an introductory course on human rights and a course on the United Nations as well as develop and teach some combination of more specialized courses in areas related to human rights such as: war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity; children's rights; indigenous people's rights; and speech/press freedoms. An ideal candidate would also be interested in organizing students to participate in a model U.N. program.
As a member of Wilfrid Laurier University, the successful applicant may be eligible to participate in graduate programs offered at the Waterloo campus and to take advantage of human rights and international relations-related institutions at Laurier.
A Ph.D., or near completion, in a relevant discipline is required. Evidence of successful teaching and a productive program of research are essential.

The Department of Economics and the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto have available one joint tenure stream position in Public and Economic Policy at the rank of Assistant Professor on the St. George campus. Methodological approach and substantive areas of research are open, but the candidate's research should be able to speak to both the economics and political science fields. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment is effective July 1, 2006.
A Ph.D. degree or equivalent is required as of July 1, 2006 or soon thereafter. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching and research. The candidate must have a demonstrated promise of outstanding research and teaching.

Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a full-time Tenure Track Assistant – Associate in the Department of Politics, beginning in the Fall 2006. Saint Mary’s College, nestled in the Moraga Valley, 20 miles east of San Francisco is the country’s premier Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts institution.
Qualifications: Applicants should be able to demonstrate expertise in the politics of the Middle East, should have field research experience and appropriate skills, including language skills for their area of specialty. Sub-specialties could include Africa or Asia. Earned doctorate expected at time of hire, along with a record of teaching excellence, scholarly work.
Responsibilities: Contractual responsibilities are equivalent to seven (7) courses per academic year. Typical teaching load is six (6) courses with one (1) additional course equivalent reassigned for dedicated work with students. In addition to teaching courses in the candidate’s area of specialization, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Department’s disciplinary courses in Politics, including one (1) course in international relations and (1) course in comparative politics.
